Punjab’s clothing style is centuries old and still going strong. From Patiala suits to churidar suits, the Punjabi culture is greatly reflected in the Punjabi dresses like Punjabi suits etc. These suits are mostly worn with colorful Punjabi dupattas. The suit consists of two pieces- a long shirt and loose pants. The dupatta is a long piece of cloth that is worn over the shoulders and around the neck. Married ladies wear it over their heads. During winters, woolen shawls are worn instead of the dupattas. The shawl usually has embroidery done over it.
The Punjabi men wear kurta pajamas. The Kurta is a very long shirt with a very loose fitting. The pajamas are also loose and baggy. They are tied to the waist. The Punjabi men can also be found wearing the kurtas with a lungi. During the winters, they wear sweaters over the kurtas. For footwear, Punjabi juttis are worn by both-men and women. These are very comfortable and can be worn with all types of clothes. These can be worn in any season and occasion.

The women also love wearing other accessories like Punjabi chooriyan. In fact, all the married women wear these. These are available in a number of styles and colors. These are available to suit all kinds of occasions. In addition, Punjabi women also love wearing gold necklaces, nose rings, toe rings, anklets etc. Nowadays, the Punjabi suits have been further modernized by the fashion designers. They have added the modern features of clothing to these suits while keeping the old touch.
