Increasing popularity of Punjabi juttis

Despite tough competition from dozens of footwear brands, there has been no downturn in the attractiveness of this particular item, mainly because of the comfort it offers. Also, to suit the taste of buyers, the Punjabi juttis have undergone a lot of changes. For daily wear, plain juttis sell like hot cakes, and for a more formal occasion, people prefer buying ones that are more vibrant and flashy.

Juttis usually drop in the slip-on style, and are made of fine leather, carefully embroided with colourful gists and beads. When worn in agreement with the Punjabi suits and Punjabi dupattas, they provide an ethnic look and certainly enhance your personality. These days juvenile young girls wear Punjabi juttis with distinct dresses — from suits to jeans and skirts — to get a chic look. Moreover, when it comes to choosing footwear with kurta-pyjamas or sherwanis, these items are preffered by men as well.

One another reason for the increasing popularity of this footwear is it’s cost-effectiveness.  This footwear is available in a wide variety, ranging from Rs 150 onwards, which is in the reach of everyone. But sometimes people place orders to get them specially made to suit certain occasions, and the prices then go up to thousands of rupees.

The Punjabi juttis are very comfortable to wear. Their flat sole makes them even more comfortable. They can also be worn at any kind of ceremonies from weddings to work. The juttis are available in available in varieties like heavily embellished, simply embellished and unembellished. People can choose any of these that suits their different occasions.

The juttis have been further modernized by the fashion designers. They now include this footwear in their fashion shows. This has helped to make these juttis even more popular among the masses. In fact, people in the west are also getting attracted to this footwear.

Colorful Punjabi Chooriyan for brides

The Punjabi Chooriyan, commonly known as Choora is a set of bangles that are usually red and white, sometimes the red bangles are replaced with another hue , but they are generally only two hues. They are worn by an Indian bride on her wedding day.

This is a custom that originated in Punjab, North India. It is a highly rated custom in Hindu families, Sikhs also pursue the custom, whereas it is mainly a Hindu tradition along with Sindhoor and mangalsutra. Choorae (plural) may contain different tinted bangles in diverse blends, but the most widespread combination is red and white. The choora is worn by the bride for 40 days from the day she puts it on and on the 40th day only her married man can remove it for her. She can wear other choora after that for as long as she likes in any colour.

The choora observance is held on the morning of the wedding. The bride's maternal uncle and auntie give her a set of choorae (21 bangles in red and white ivory). Nowadays, the bride often wears 7 or 9 bangles. According to custom, the bride should ideally wear the choora for at smallest a year. It is now usual for the bride to wear her Punjabi chooriyan for a month and a quarter (40 days). The bangles range in dimensions according to the circumference of the top of the forearm and the wrist end so that the set aligns precisely.

During the vintage days, the bride would wear a choora for a full year with the Punjabi juttis and Punjabi suits. When the color begun to fade, her in-laws would really have it recolored, so everyone understood she was a freshly wed (less than a year of marriage). On an auspicious Hindu holiday, usually sangrand, after the 1st celebration her inlaws would hold a little intimate observance in which the chura was removed and glass churiyan (bangles) were put on both hands. This usually was escorted with mithai (indian sweets) and a monetary shagun. The Punjabi chooriyan are then taken to a stream and a prayer is said and it is left to float up on the water.

Punjabi Suit designs

The traditional apparel in Punjab is Kurta-pajama with turban for men. Ladies like Patiala suits as a part of their ancient apparel. However, the younger generation prefers stylish apparel as per the style state of affairs.

Punjabi's are mainly known for their liveliness, exuberance & bountiful mind-set. The new dimension that has recently been added to their persona is their unique fashion sense. With beautiful salwars to short kameezs, punjabi culture has seen all these quite well.

The NRI population has been a significant influence concerning apparel of the Punjabis.   There's a riot of colors within the pagdi-turban and phulkari dupattas that comes out throughout the Baisakhi festival. The informal dress of the Punjabis comprising of the Salwar-Kameez for girls and lehenga-Kurta with a waistcoat has several colors and styling.

The trend of Punjabi suits was introduced long ago, but this has not altered its craze over market trends. Punjabi suits comprise of kameezs in vast colors with gota pattis and embroidery , teamed up with salwars. Salwars may vary from heavy patiala ones with large number of pleats to lighter salwars without pleats .

Tight bottomed and flowy in between salwars is the latest trend to join the league of salwars. These can worn with dupattas. The dupattas can range from heavily embroidered dupattas to Punjabi dupattas. These can also be teamed up with Mojaris. Mojaris are handcrafted and extensively embroidered foot wears available in different patterns & colors. These are well known in Punjabi culture as 'juttis'.

One more modern and trendier avatar of the salwaar kameez is the Churidars. Unlike the Punjabi salwaar kameezs, which have loose bottoms, the churidar suits have firmly fitted bases paired with snug tunics or a long, raging torrent kameez. They are called the churidars because of the churis or wrinkled pleats near the ankle, which give them a gorgeous ethnic gaze. These suits are a comtemporary rendition of salwar kameez and are evolving more and more. These are also liked for their practicality and usability in everyday life.

The comfort component is also adding to their attractiveness amongst employed women. Churidars have the proficiency to give a girl a desirable look with ethnic appeal infused with modern style and glamour. The most well liked fabric amongst the churidars is the cotton fabric. Their look is generally enhanced with the help of embroidery, embellishments and various well liked art types. They are found in abounding styles and types. Their versatility makes them congenial for all occasions and climatic situations, adorning a young female with unmatchable elegance and flair.

The Punjabi suits not only bring out the grace but also makes the women wearing it more beautiful and desirable. And the best part is that they can be worn at any type of occasions.
